Beyond the 11th is a nonprofit organization founded by Patricia Quigley and Susan Retik, two women who lost their husbands in the attacks of 9/11. The vision is built around the idea that, while the pain these families has experienced is tremendous, the emotional and economic pain of women and their families in Afghanistan and Iraq is equal to and even greater than theirs.
Beyond the 11th has partnered with Georgetown University to provide educational services to women and families in need in these countries so that they can become contributing members of their communities in the war-torn regions of these countries.
We developed the strategic foundation and created an identity for them. Just recently a documentary film 'Beyond Belief' by Beth Murphy was selected as an official entry to the Tribeca Film Festival. It is the emotive and compelling story of these two brave and courageous women and their journey together, fueled intitially by grief, but ultimately driven by hope and compassion.
