The Battery Conservancy is a nonprofit organization based in lower Manhattan. The Battery plans and cares for the parkland that falls within its auspices. Most think of this as being only Battery Park itself, but the reality is that The Battery Conservancy is also responsible for a large portion of the Hudson that is directly off of Battery Park.
It was very important for this fact to be expressed in the brand voice of the organization. Brandinglife looked to the relationship of the park and the water for guidance in developing a new identity for the organization, thus the new brand mark.
The new logo is a proprietary word mark with an integrated wave element suggesting the water and signaling that The Battery is rising up on the crest of a new wave of redevelopment and optimism.
